Jason Gillis, the company president, grew up near Vidalia, the small South Georgia town famous for its onions. He began his construction career at age 14 with a summer job putting roofs on houses. He moved his way higher through hard work, learning many of the crucial steps in building a quality house by mastering them himself - from attaching roof trusses firmly with hurricane straps to the tricky craftsmanship needed to make smooth, even walls. After running his own successful drywall business for several years, Jason began his carer as a homebuilder in 1994. In 2002, Jason launched his own business, Jason D Gillis Homes Inc.

Though he has lived in the Atlanta area for many years, Jason has not forgotten the small-town values he absorbed as a child. He still regards a handshake to be as binding as any contract.
